Traffic Signal Technician
$15.26 - $22.90/Hour DOQ

The purpose of this position is to ensure the safe and efficient flow of City traffic. This is accomplished by maintaining City signs and signals. Other duties may include maintaining traffic control equipment, school zone flashers and residential roadway lighting, performing traffic studies, providing City signage services, maintaining safe work environments, providing administrative support and interfacing with other City employees and citizens. This position does not provide direction to other employees.

Job Requirements:
- A high school diploma or G.E.D. with six months of advanced study or training in junior college, vocational, business, technical or correspondence schools is required.
- A minimum of two years relevant experience maintaining traffic control equipment, flashers and roadway lighting is required.
- Level I IMSA Traffic Signal Technician certification desired.
- Valid Texas Class C Drivers License and a driving record in good standing is required.
- Ability to be on-call after hours and on the weekends.

Traffic Signal Technician – Electrical

The purpose of the Traffic Signal Technician is to ensure the proper installation and maintenance of the City's traffic control devices by performing traffic signal and roadway lighting maintenance and repair, installing and maintaining fiber optic equipment, performing signal installations and programming and ensuring proper traffic signal operation.

Other duties include maintaining knowledge of current advances within the field, training employees and interacting with other City employees and citizens.

A High School Diploma or GED with six months of advanced study or training in a junior college, vocational, business, technical or correspondence school and four years of experience in the installation and maintenance of traffic control devices required.

Must have a Class A CDL license.

International Municipal Signal Association Workzone level I and International Municipal Signal Association Traffic Signal level II certifications desirable but not required.

Pay Range: $14.72- $23.55/hour DOQ
